A Phoenix area talent agency is opening a branch in Albuquerque. I shoot headshots for them in Phoenix but I must hire someone for shoots in Albuquerque. You will be supplied with a MUA, we'll do the scheduling, and each shoot takes about an hour. At a minimum, your camera ought to be the equivalent of a Canon Digital Rebel. After the shoot, you will snail-mail a CD of about 100 digital images to me. These can be just as they come from the camera. I'll do the final editing. This is contract work. I'll pay you $20 for each CD. Your rights to the images are sold with the CD. You will typically work on Saturday and you can expect anywhere from 1-5 clients per session.

Annarbor - Mack the Knife, ambitious short film still casting principal role

I am the producer of Mack the Knife, an ambitious short film with action/adventure and art cinema style. We are still in the process of casting for the principal role of Rodger. Our film is an advanced student film to be shot on Super 16 stock, and will end up being about 20 minutes. We cannot provide monetary compensation, but will provide gas reimbursement, food, copy, and credit on amazing film that will be distributed to festivals! A little more about our film: Murray hitchhikes into a town where two old friends of his live and tries to insert himself back into their lives. In short order, however, Murray and his friend Jimmy find themselves in trouble with the local small-time crime ring Jimmy works for and Murray’s forced to leave town again. They arrive at an old motel off a rural stretch of highway and decide to board there for a few days while they figure out what to do. The hotel owner, it turns out, has a history similar to Murray’s and takes him under his wing, and Murray befriends him along with the group of other semi-permanent tenants that the owner has offered as a kind of get-away or sanctuary from their problems. Murray begins to think that maybe this might be a good place to stay when the owner dies in his sleep from complications from a lifetime of heavy smoking, leaving Murray and the other tenants adrift and homeless with an uncertain future… RODGER: An aging man who owns a little motel in a small town out in the rural parts of the country. He’s the de facto landlord for a group of semi-permanent tenants who’ve taken to the motel as kind of a sanctuary or in-between house from their various life problems. It’s seems that Rob was a bit of scoundrel of his own making back in the day, but has been more or less formally retired from that kind of life for some time. Rob was a heavy smoker since his teenage years and some of that may finally be catching up with him as he’s been experiencing fits of coughing and chest pains of late… We are looking for a man 52-69 years old to play Rodger. No previous experience necessary (although that is a benefit), but natural ability, directability, and capability to memorize lines is critical. This is a short film production, nearly finished, shot on Mini-DV. Needing one actress to fill the spot of Johnny's "other woman", for two flash-back scenes. Kissing yes, stockings & garter showing, but no real skin action and with very little "intimate touching", if any. We are a group of film students at the university of Michigan currently casting actors for our short film Mack the Knife. Our film has both action/adventure and art cinema sensibilities. Our film will be shot on Super 16mm and distributed to film festivals nationwide. We are casting the following roles: Murray- a young thief about 23-30 years old. Murray is an independent guy who tends to take advantage of people. He is currently facing a crossroads in his life. Jimmy- Murray's right hand man, about 21-30 years old. Jimmy is also a thief, but far less independent than Murray. Jimmy is the closest thing Murray has to a friend. Roger- an older man of 60 - 70 years old. Roger is an ex-thief turned motel owner who Murray befriends. Roger is a light-hearted and kind man who enjoys life. Juliana - a younger girl about 21 - 30 years old. Juliana is Jimmy's ex-girlfriend who he always falls back on when he screws up. Juliana has enough problems of her own and doesn't need to worry about Jimmy too.
